We have a few thoughts about cookies

We put a ridiculous amount of thought into making really good cookies. Here’s what that means for you.

  • Great cookies don’t happen by accident

We obsess over every ingredient, recipe, and little detail so that when you treat yourself, every bite is worth it.

  • Good looks aren’t enough

We love a good-looking cookie. But if it doesn’t taste as good as it looks, what’s the point? You deserve both.

  • Eat the whole cookie

You should be able to enjoy a cookie without needing a cookie cutter to portion it out. We believe indulgence should be satisfying, not excessive.

  • Respect the classics

Your favorite cookies became classics for a reason. We think they deserve to be perfected, not replaced. And when we’re feeling adventurous, we’ll bring a few unexpected flavors into the mix.

  • A little weird is a good thing

We like strange ideas, unexpected combinations, and people who do their own thing. If you’ve got a weird side, you’re in good company.

FAQs

A few things to know before you order.

How do I place an order?

Browse our cookies, pick your favorites, and choose an available pickup date and time at checkout. You can mix and match flavors and pay securely online through Stripe.

Prefer to pay with cash or in person by card? Contact us and we'll help you place an order.

Why are cookies only available on certain days?

We're a small operation, so we bake in limited batches on scheduled drop days. This helps us plan ahead and make sure every batch gets the attention it deserves.

Each drop has a limited number of cookies available and an order cutoff. Once a drop fills up or the cutoff passes, you'll need to choose another available date. You can see all available dates and times at checkout.

Can I order more than 24 cookies?

Absolutely. We just handle larger orders a little differently.

Regular online orders are limited to 24 cookies so we can manage each drop and leave room for other customers. If you need more for a party, event, or just a serious cookie craving, submit a custom order request. We'll work out the details with you.

Can I change or cancel my order?

Need to make a change? Contact us as soon as possible. We'll do our best to help, especially if we haven't started preparing your order yet.

Once preparation is underway, changes or cancellations may no longer be possible.

What if there's a problem with my order? Do you offer refunds?

Because our cookies are baked to order, we generally can't accept returns or offer refunds for a change of mind.

But if we got something wrong or there's a genuine problem with your order, please tell us. We'll look into it and do our best to make things right, including a replacement or refund when appropriate.

Where do I pick up my cookies?

Regular orders are picked up at our home bakery in Meriden, CT. You'll see the exact address at checkout and in your order confirmation.

Just stop by during your selected pickup window and call, text, or knock when you arrive. We simply ask that you're considerate of our neighbors while visiting.

What if I miss my pickup window?

Life happens. If you're running late or can't make your scheduled pickup, just contact us as soon as possible. We'll do our best to arrange another pickup time or day within reason.

Keep in mind that your cookies are baked fresh for your scheduled pickup day, so we can't guarantee the same freshness if you pick them up later. If you don't show up or contact us, we can't offer a refund for unclaimed orders.

Do you offer delivery or shipping?

Regular orders are pickup only for now. For larger custom orders, we may be able to arrange local delivery for an additional fee. Contact us and we'll see what we can work out.

We're not able to ship cookies under Connecticut's cottage food rules.

What if I have food allergies?

Our cookies are made in a shared home kitchen that is not an allergen-free environment. Cross-contact is possible, and we cannot guarantee that any of our products are free from allergens. If you have a food allergy, we do not recommend consuming our products.

All of our current cookies contain wheat and gluten. We do not offer gluten-free products, and our cookies are not suitable for people with celiac disease.

Read our full disclosure and each cookie's ingredient list on the Ingredients & Allergens page. If you have questions about a specific ingredient, please contact us before ordering.

What ingredients do you use?

We keep things pretty simple. Real butter, flour, sugar, quality chocolate, and other ingredients chosen for how they make our cookies taste.

Some flavors call for specialty ingredients, toppings, or a little something unconventional. We're not going to pretend everything is made from five ingredients. Find the complete ingredient lists on our Ingredients & Allergens page and on each cookie's packaging.

How long do your cookies stay fresh?

We bake fresh for pickup, and we think our cookies are best enjoyed the day they're made. Stored sealed in a cool, dry place, they should still be enjoyable for the next 2–3 days, though their texture will change over time.

Want that fresh-baked feel again? Take an unfrosted cookie out of its wrapper and warm it in the microwave for about 5–10 seconds.

What is a cottage bakery? Are you licensed?

We're a small, home-based bakery in Meriden, Connecticut, licensed through the state's Department of Consumer Protection (DCP).

We've completed the required food safety training and follow Connecticut's cottage food rules for preparing, handling, and labeling our products. We take cleanliness and food safety seriously. Unlike commercial bakeries, cottage food kitchens aren't subject to routine government food safety inspections.

Are you planning to open a storefront?

That's the goal! We'd love to open a proper bakery here in Connecticut where we can bake every day and you can stop in whenever the cookie craving hits.

For now, we're starting small and building toward it. If you want to help us get there, ordering cookies and spreading the word are two pretty good ways to do it.

Can I request a flavor or give feedback?

Please do. Good feedback, bad feedback, wild flavor ideas — we want to hear it all.

Share your feedback and flavor ideas through our contact page, where you can call us or send a message. We're always working on new recipes and improving the ones we already make.

I'm a content creator or journalist. Can we work together?

We'd love to hear from you. If you're a food creator, photographer, writer, journalist, or anyone with an interesting idea for sharing Misfit, get in touch.

Tell us a little about what you're working on. We're always open to creative collaborations and opportunities to share our cookies with more people.
